Loft Dynamics wishes you a happy holiday season

As 2024 comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to celebrate the milestones that have made this year transformative for pilot training. Together, we’ve done more than move the needle; we’ve helped drive a global paradigm shift. This shift is elevating the standards of pilot training and demonstrating the role VR plays in building a safer and more effective, accessible, and sustainable future for aviation.

Here are just some of the highlights:

  • The FAA qualified its first VR flight training device (our H125!), solidifying VR as an essential part of safe and effective pilot training—in the U.S. and globally. [Read more in Forbes]
  • EASA updated its training regulations, removing FFS requirements and enabling our VR simulators to improve safety and accessibility for a growing number of operators. [Read more in AIN]
  • We qualified the world’s first VR Helicopter External Sling Load (HESLO) simulation with the FAA and EASA, making it safer to train for one of aviation’s most challenging operations.
  • Development began on the first VR training device for electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL), which will help to meet the demand for skilled pilots as sustainable air mobility takes off. [Read more in Halldale]
  • We opened our North American HQ and first flight simulation hub in Santa Monica, giving more pilots and operators hands-on access to VR training. [Watch KTLA]
  • We launched "LofTWIN," a tool that brings world-renowned pilot instruction into VR, enabling pilots to learn from the best—anytime, anywhere. 
  • VR training was adopted across diverse operators and institutions, from LAPD to Marshall University and SAF Aerogroup, all integrating Loft Dynamics simulators. Read more in Vertical Magazine:

  • Former FAA administrators Michael Huerta and Randy Babbitt joined our advisory board, helping to shape VR’s future role in aviation safety and innovation. [Read more in PR Newswire]
  • We hosted the inaugural Loft Fest, bringing together aviation leaders, innovators, and changemakers from around the world to share ideas and drive progress in pilot training.
  • We debuted our VR H145 simulator, developed in collaboration with Airbus Helicopters, at European Rotors—addressing unmet demand among emergency medical services, law enforcement, and more.

To everyone—pilots, operators, OEMs, innovators, advisors, regulatory authorities, friends, family, Lofties, and many more—who has been part of our journey: thank you. Your trust, feedback, and collaboration have fueled our mission to make pilot training safer, more accessible, and more effective.

We can’t wait for what’s to come in 2025—new opportunities and innovations are already underway!
