First and only VR simulator to receive FAA qualification
Loft Dynamics does it again, becoming the only VR flight simulator to receive qualification from both EASA and now the FAA. These regulatory approvals represent a major step in making pilot training more safe, effective, and accessible. Helicopter pilots in the U.S. can now receive credit toward ratings on Loft Dynamics simulators, which will enable them to train emergency procedures, difficult maneuvers such as sling load operations, and many other flight environments and scenarios. This authorization is crucial for the future of VR flight training, and it will help to address the pilot shortage in the U.S. and around the world.
Sky Aviation partnership will advance pilot training in Italy
Leading Italian helicopter services company Sky Aviation will deploy Loft Dynamics’ VR H125 simulator to train pilots in hyper-realistic alpine flight conditions and maneuvers. Sky Aviation is the second Italian operator to partner with Loft Dynamics, and its pilots will benefit from the most immersive VR flight training available. Pilots will now be able to maintain proficiencies and safely practice emergency scenarios in the world’s only EASA-qualified VR simulator, which will limit risk, reduce environmental impact, and significantly cut operating costs.
Law enforcement embracing Loft Dynamics
Loft Dynamics attended the Airborne Public Safety Convention (APSCON) in Houston, Texas, where we hosted one of the busiest exhibits in the hall. Our team conducted demo flights and had the opportunity to engage with police aviation units from around the United States. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) recently purchased a Loft Dynamics simulator, and we are working with the department to develop an innovative simulator-centric training program. At APSCON, we presented the LAPD with an award for contributions to the future of law enforcement pilot training.
Two former FAA administrators join our advisory board
As Loft Dynamics expands its North American operations, former FAA administrators Randy Babbitt and Michael Huerta are joining the company’s advisory board. Babbitt and Huerta are aviation veterans with many decades of combined experience between them, from leading the FAA to high-level roles at major airlines and industry groups. Babbitt and Huerta recognize that VR simulation is critical for the future of flight training, and they will help Loft Dynamics meet the needs of the entire aviation ecosystem: from pilots to operators to regulators.
Loft Dynamics Insights: Thank you, Robert
Robert Hegner is our head of software engineering, and we’re celebrating his fifth anniversary at Loft Dynamics! Robert is responsible for the development, maintenance, and functionality of the software that powers our simulators, which means he’s always focused on ensuring that pilots and operators have the smoothest and most user-friendly experience possible. We could not be more grateful to Robert for overseeing our stellar software engineering team. If you’re interested in a career at Loft Dynamics, check out our open opportunities.
Loft Dynamics around the world
From September 10 to 11, 2024 in Rheinmümster, Germany, you can find us at DRF Luftrettung’s fourth HHO Symposium. The event is focused on trends and innovations in helicopter hoist operations, which are critical for many of our partners.
From November 4 to 7, 2024, we will be in Amsterdam for European Rotors 2024. Join us at booths 3085 and 3089 to experience how VR simulation can shape the future of helicopter training in Europe and around the world.
From December 2 to 6, 2024, Loft Dynamics will be in Orlando, Florida for the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference. I/ITSEC is the largest conference in the world dedicated to modeling, simulation, and training, which is why we will be there to showcase our revolutionary VR simulators.
